Kogi Security Fund, FRSC move to tackle road carnage

Kogi State Security Trust Fund and the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) have expressed determination to reduce carnages on roads to its minimal level through enhanced collaboration.
The joint action plan to deal with incidences in the sector was unfolded recently when the Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, Kogi State Command, Idris Fika played host to the
newly appointed Chairman of Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Hon Abdulmalik Samari in Lokoja.
Hon Samari who observed that the essence of collaboration is to protect lives further explained that joint action and synergy between the agencies will ensure commuters safety and assist in curbing crime
along major roads in the state.Responding, the Commander said their target is to sensitise road users and reduce road carnages arising from traffic flow pattern, especially during ember month’s. He reaffirmed the command’s readiness to collaborate with them in addressing these challenges.
In a similar manner, Chairman, Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Hon AbAbdulmalik Samari has called on residents of Kogi State to be security conscious at all times.
Hon. Samari made the call during a courtesy visit to the office of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone ‘8’ Headquarters, Lokoja Kogi State, AIG Yunana Baba.
The Chairman who said the main objective of the Trust Fund is to finance security agencies and equip them to fight crime in the state assured the command of its
contentious assistance.
He described Kogi as a strategic view since it is the gateway to nine other states in the country adding that its location has made it more prone to crime and criminals; just as he appealed to all the security agencies to intensify efforts to rid the state of
crime.
Responding, AIG Yunana commended the chairman for embarking on a tour of security agencies as well as Governor Yahaya Bello for using the Trust Fund to reduce the rate of crime in the state.
